Welcome To David Menezes National Violin Competition Goa 2012
The Guitar Guild Goa (GGG) and Kala Academy Goa take pleasure in organizing the 3rd All India Violin Competition in memory of David Menezes; an outstanding figure in the corporate world in Goa till death took him away. David Menezes had a great passion for music being a fine violinist himself.
The GGG is one of the leading musical organizations in Goa, with an aim to offer promising musicians, guitarists or others a platform to display their art and an opportunity to consider making music a viable profession.
The national violin competition is a fruit of a felicitous partnership between the Menezes family that has for decades played a leading role in bringing musicians from around globe to perform for select audiences in Goa and a rather young group of music lovers who have banded together under the name of Guitar Guild Goa because they are in the first place exponents or lovers of guitar music.
The violin is the queen of all musical instruments and also forms the backbone of Goan folk music and is widely played and appreciated across Goa. We would like to welcome you to this event between 16th and 22nd January 2012 – as either a participant or connoisseur of music.
